other interests:	I have collected postmarks from the Scottish islands for over 20 years, an interest that grew from my regular visits to the islands since 1979. I collect material from ALL the islands, with the exception only of Arran and Bute. If pinned down to name my favourite collecting area, it would have to be Shetland and Orkney. Given a free trip to an island of my choice, it would probably be to the Isle of Barra, especially at Primrose time! I also have a collection of picture postcards from the Scottish islands (again, with the exception of Arran and Bute). I've had two books published on this subject, both by The Shetland Times Limited, the first, "Souvenir Postcards from Shetland", in 1992, and the second, "Souvenir Postcards from Orkney", in 1994. I must have an "island bug" because I also collect postcards and postmarks from the Isles of Scilly, and stamps, postcards and postal history from the German island of Helgoland.
